Introduction To Departments

Are you a fan of the old days when there were only two branches of engineering—civil and mechanical? Well, so are we! But now, not so much.

In this day and age, there are so many different branches of engineering that it can be hard to keep up with. These are now major branches of engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Management, electronics and telecommunications, computer science, Bio medical and literally hundreds of different subcategories of engineering under each branch.

Each branch has specialties that are unique to that branch. For example, if you’re a mechanical engineer studying in the automotive industry, there’s a whole lot more for you to learn than if you’re studying in the aerospace industry. The difference between the two is that the automotive industry is more about building cars and their parts from scratch while aerospace engineers focus on designing and building airplanes.

The good news is that as an engineer in any of these fields you’ll have a pretty high rate of job placement after graduation. It’s estimated that around 84% of all engineers find work within 6 months of graduating from college or university. If your dream job isn’t available right away or if you don’t know where to start looking for work as an engineer, you just start with us BIGCE
