The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) celebrated record placement numbers amidst the pandemic by honouring its students who have bagged jobs in multinational companies.
The annual CTC a student gets is Rs 44 lakh per annum (LPA). The highest package received for mechanical engineering branch is Rs 23 LPA.
The college’s placement cell has stated that for industrial production, the highest package received is Rs 30 LPA and for civil engineering it is Rs 8 LPA.
“This is a feather to the institution’s cap as we have achieved this in the midst of the pandemic,” college officials said.
According to the officials, more than 730 students have already been placed with more than 1025 offers and placement for the core branches is still going on.
Top recruiters of the placement season were Twillio, JP Morgan Chase & Co, Cisco, VM Ware, Western Digital, Fidelity Investment, Deloitte, HPE R&D, Philips, SAP Labs India, Mercedes Benz, NetApp, Texas Instruments, Cohesity, Accenture, KPMG, Visa, Myntra, Wipro, Infosys, HCL and many more.
Harshith Divakar, head, placement and training department, said best practices like industrial driven electives and mentor-mentee system helped students to build their career.
